a banner the reads Valentine Coffee Co: Coffee 101

What’s Brewing?
Grown between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn in over 80 countries, coffee is always “in season” somewhere. This is a good thing for the coffee lover, but it doesn’t guarantee that the coffee you bought last week will be on the market tomorrow.

Once picked, the fresh coffee cherries are processed immediately: first the fruit pulp is removed from the pit; the resulting beans are then cleaned and dried; lastly, a remaining hull is removed. This green coffee is now up for sale and ready to roast. Obviously, coffee isn’t all harvested at once, so different parts of the world are releasing green coffee to the market at different times of year. Learning Center - Beer Education

By Andy Guy of BeerFM.com

It’s no secret that beer and wine have been competing for ages (a whole discussion for another day). These books have become “bibles” of sorts, providing guidance, direction and inspiration to the modern bartender’s arsenal of cocktails.

There is a Cab Franc for Every Season
Intro by Dave Norris, formerly of INdustri Café in Milwaukee

WHAT WILL GET US THROUGH the winter that never came and the spring that lasted too long? We anxiously await the ripe flavors of summer and the warm days with a cold glass of wine in hand. There are seasons that are linked (for me, at least) to drinking certain wines ... a ripe, rich, warming glass of Bordeuax next to a fire with a hearty meal and snow falling, or the dandelion days of summer when rosé just tastes so good. For me there is a certain grape, one varietal, that I drink all year with just about any food pairing you could think of, and that grape is Cabernet Franc.
