"This is my at home white table wine. This blows away any Pinot Grigio from Italy in that same price range. Aged on the lees gives it a great body and texture which you don’t find from Italy. This gives it just a touch of color, but really adds to the body and texture of this wine. This can’t be beat!"

Move over Marlborough Sauv Blancs—make room for The Ned Pinot Gris! Although the kiwis are known for their SBs that tend to be grapefruit bombs of sorts, this Gris is beautifully restrained but incredibly distinct. It has qualities similar to a Sauv Blanc, but it’s more amiable than overpowering in terms of grassy or citrus notes; in other words, it’s delicious. The name of the label is after a mountain peak just outside of Marlborough, a place that the winemaker holds dear in his heart as a Marlborough native that often biked and hiked The Ned. This Gris and the Grigio to follow are colored—that is to say they aren’t of a “typical white wine” yellow or green hue, but rather orange. This is due to prolonged skin contact, giving the wine a deep color.
