The Highbury Pub PDF Print E-mail
Bars & Clubs - Bay View

Written by Dan Pettis

Ole, ole, ole, ole! The Highbury Pub is Bay View's home for football or, as people around here call it, soccer. It has an eclectic European feel and is a great place to take in one of the matches. All of the games are shown here. So even if a game is shown at six in the morning, the Highbury will be open. British soccer club Arsenal is sort of like the pseudo-home team here, since the Highbury takes it's name from Arsenal's former stadium. Even if Arsenal's not your favorite team, you can still show off your team’s colors with pride and be among friends at the Highbury. Heck, my roommate frequently visits here decked out in Manchester City colors and never once has he had a bottle smashed over his head.

Horny Goat Hideaway PDF Print E-mail
Bars & Clubs - Bay View

Written by Dan Pettis

If you're feeling horny, then you should hit up the Horny Goat Hideaway. Located at 2011 South 1st St just on the outskirts of Bay View, this bar/restaurant is home to all things Horny Goat. Inside, the scenery looks like a modern riff on urban decor with an upstairs loft-style area perfect for hanging out.

Since Horny Goat is the namesake of this hangout, the core six Horny Goat beers are all here. You'll find Red Vixen, Stacked Milk Stout, Exposed and all the others in bottles and on tap at all times. There are brewmasters on site who brew up exclusive Horny Goat creations that you will only find at the Hideaway. In addition, the restaurant's menu features tasty entrees, like loaded tots and epic mac 'n cheese.

If you want the feel of an up-north bar, but you don't want to drive up north, then check out Blackbird Bar at 3007 S Kinnickinnic Ave. It has all the charm and kitsch you'd expect to find in your favorite up-north watering hole, only it's much closer to home. Blackbird is cozy and fun with lots to do and interesting things to look at. The walls are literally covered with kitschy Pabst and Schlitz signage and other oddities that were discovered at local antique stores.
