The main attraction at Nomad World Pub on Brady Street in Milwaukee is undoubtedly the football. No, we’re not talking about catching a game of American football featuring our beloved green and gold. Here, you’ll hop the pond from the comfort of your bar stool to catch some European football action featuring teams from across the world. With an impressive beer list (featuring more than 20 tap varieties and at least 80 different bottles to choose from), The Nomad is the perfect place to stop for a pint and some quality entertainment.
Whether your favorite club is competing in the English Premier League, Spain’s La Liga or the UEFA Champions League (a tournament of the best teams from all of European football), stop in to catch the game you’ve been looking forward to all week. The bar fills up early for weekend games, so don’t wait until the last minute to claim your seat … and when I say early, I mean patrons pack this venue by 6:30 am to cheer on their favorite teams! As an extra bonus for rousing early on your day off, The Nomad provides complementary toast Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Make an appearance between 4 and 4:15 pm Monday through Thursday for what this pub has dubbed the ‘world’s shortest happy hour.’ What makes this 15-minute layover worthwhile? The mere $1 you’ll pay for your drink of choice. If you can’t make it in during the afternoon, but have $5, stop in anytime for The Prix Fix. This fix gets you a shot of Jameson, a can of PBR, and a cigarette. Not bad, considering the price of cigarettes continues to skyrocket well past $5 a pack. You’ll often see a small crowd of patrons outside the door enjoying a third of their deal.
If you work near Brady Street or happen to be in the area looking for a bite to eat midday, order the “Power Lunch.” Created for those on the go, this meal consists of a bag of chips, a snickers bar, a sack of almonds and a rail cocktail—just don’t tell your boss. Calling all pop culture fanatics: Monday night is trivia night. So, assemble your team with up to six friends and compete for prizes such as Brewers tickets or a home bar package. With great drink specials and a cozy but often rowdy atmosphere, Nomad World Pub lets every Milwaukeean rejoice in their love of soccer.
